Toronto, ON - November 21, 2014: Albert Schultz, Founding Artistic Director of Soulpepper Theatre Company, today released details about the first annual Soulpepper Family Festival, running at the Young Centre from November 27 through to January 2015. The Festival's stage lineup includes Michael Shamata's beloved adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol; Ins Choi's Kim's Convenience; and The Conjuror from master magician David Ben. A new Family Concert will also be on stage in December with performances from Soulpepper artists and special guests. On January 2 and 3, 2015, a series of free family programming will also take place throughout the Young Centre including music, theatre and interactive games, details to be announced. Bah Humbug! Soulpepper's beloved production of Michael Shamata's A Christmas Carol has become a Toronto holiday tradition. Follow Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by three ghosts who help him understand the importance of charity in the holiday season. The cast includes Daniel-Anthony Akuffo, Ava Arrindell, Kevin Bundy, Daniel Chapman-Smith, Charlotte Dennis, Oliver Dennis, Deborah Drakeford, Kevin Gordon, Stephen Guy-McGrath, Maggie Huculak, John Jarvis, Tangara Jones, Gregory Prest, Sarah Wilson and Joseph Ziegler.

After a whirlwind national tour which included stops in Ontario (London, Hamilton, Port Hope and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa), Manitoba (Winnipeg), Alberta (Calgary and Edmonton), and British Columbia (Vancouver), Kim's Convenience returns home to Soulpepper. Soulpepper Academy alumnus Ins Choi's hilarious and touching debut play set in a Regent Park Korean convenience store has resonated with audiences across the country. The journey of a fractured but loving family confronting the future and forgiving the past is a Canadian classic in the making. The cast includes Chantelle Han, Jane Luk, Andre Sills, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Dale Yim.
Kim’s Convenience runs from November 27 to December 28.

Embark on a voyage of imagination and wonder as David Ben brings his critically acclaimed The Conjuror to Soulpepper. Be transported back to the year 1909 and the legendary St. George's Hall in London during the Golden Age of Magic where audiences were enchanted by mystery. The cast includes David Ben, Ken Delaney, Julie Eng and Suleyman Fattah.

SOULPEPPER'S WEEKLY CABARETS
Soulpepper's series of weekly Cabarets continue at the Young Centre every Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. Each Cabaret runs for 60-90 minutes and features a different guest artist or ensemble in an intimate and conversational setting. Upcoming cabarets include Three Little Maids (with Janet Martin, Debora Joy and Barbara Dunn-Prosser) on November 22 and Reading The Danger Tree, an evening of song and story with David Macfarlane and Douglas Cameron, on November 29.
