Théâtre français de Toronto is pleased to present Le Chat botté (Puss in Boots), a fun musical comedy for young audiences. In a mystical forest where trees are tiger-striped and where cats favor jazz over meowing, Frédéric Bélanger puts a new spin on the famous fairy tale by Charles Perreault. In French at the Berkeley Street Theatre for two performances only, Saturday, December 6.
ONCE UPON A TIME…Upon the passing of their father, three brothers are set to collect their inheritance. The eldest is handed the keys to the mill, the second receives the mules while the youngest one receives... a cat. Disappointed and with not a cent to his name, the desperate brother is even tempted to make a meal out of his new feline friend. That is, of course, before the animal starts exhibiting a most unusual talent. He speaks! In exchange for a simple bag and a pair of boots, the clever puss will transform the young miller into the Marquis of Carabas, a distinguished gentleman worthy of the kingdom’s princess.
TfT is eager to present this fairy-tale to its young audience which will not only be a great source of amusement but will also develop a sense of wonder among children.
Adapted for the stage and directed by Frédéric Bélanger. Featuring Mathilde Addy-Laird, Yannick Chapdelaine,
