Toronto, ON – Women in Music Canada today announced an important initiative focused on the music industry across Ontario. With the financial support of the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), FACTOR and the Slaight Family Foundation, Women in Music has engaged Nordicity to undertake a groundbreaking study to develop the first ever profile of women working in the music industry in Ontario.
“The stronger the response, the better our understanding of the industry. The more data we can gather will lead to a stronger study and in turn will help Women in Music – Canada better support our members as well as others. So thank you for supporting Ontario’s music industry.”– Samantha Slattery; Executive Director and Founder, Women in Music - Canada
Women in Music Canada encourages participation of all individuals in the music industry (regardless of gender identity). Spread the word with #WiMCan and the survey link http://fluidsurveys.com/s/MusicIndustryON2014/
Women in Music Canada’s intention is to use the survey results to develop a profile of women working in the music industry and to identify strategic steps which can help benefit the industry as a whole. The results of the study, expected later in 2015, will allow them to shine a light on women working in the industry and help to serve those in the industry better as a support organization.
