Filled with humour, romance, drama, and non-stop melody, The World Goes ‘Round is a thrilling celebration of life and the human spirit.
From the show-stopping tunes of Cabaret (Maybe This Time, The Money Song) and Chicago (Mr. Cellophane, All That Jazz) to the classic New York, New York, this heart-stopping show weaves the Broadway classics of Tony-Award winners, John Kander and Fred Ebb, into a seamlessly passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre.
Scarborough Music Theatre (SMT) has been bringing Broadway-style performances to the community for over 50 years and is a proud member of Theatre Scarborough. A non-profit, charitable organization, SMT evolved out of the Church of the Master Senior Choir’s concerts in the early 1960’s. First known as Scarborough Light Opera, the group began performing Gilbert and Sullivan operettas in the early years. Now, SMT has a reputation of presenting traditional musical theatre favourites such as West Side Story, The King and I, and Annie, alongside contemporary musicals such as Spamalot, The Who’s Tommy, and The Full Monty.
