Toronto, February 11, 2014 - 360 Screenings presents: LOVE took place February 7 and 8 at St. Lawrence Hall, with three packed Valentine's inspired screenings of the weekend’s secret film, Baz Luhrman’s Romeo + Juliet (1996). This edition of the site specific theatre company’s event also saw real life action, when a pair attending the Friday night screening got engaged. Andreina Pulido and Francis Gillis spent their early days together in a long distance relationship, one in Canada and the other in South America. The couple now calls Toronto home. In one of the many elaborately designed rooms, surrounded by sparkling lights and awestruck onlookers, Francis dropped to one knee and popped the question. The moment was captured by many attendees and posted across social media.
360 Screenings events are a fusion of live theatre and cinema, offering audiences the chance to become part of a movie rather than just watch it. “Valentine’s Day is about love, whether you’re with friends or the one you love. We’re creating a night of love for everyone,” says Artistic Producer & Co-Founder Ned Loach.
All 360 Screenings events are held in historic venues kept secret until 24 hours in advance. Guests are immersed in the sights and sounds of the evening’s film as soon as they arrive on site, with actors creating interactive, live theatre installations. Those with a keen eye may soon guess the identity of the film. Food, wine and beer are available throughout the evening at a cash bar.
360 Screenings was recently listed on Buzzfeed as one of the top interactive film events around the world.
Each 360 Screenings event is a unique, customized movie going experience created by Toronto’s Ned Loach (Artistic Producer & Co-founder) and Robert Gontier (Artistic Director & Co-Founder). These inspired cinematic experiences have played to sold out audiences for Fight Club, Ghost, 28 Days Later, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Exorcist, each receiving rave reviews.

About 360 Screenings:
360 Screenings began in May 2012 with a production of Jerry Zucker’s GHOST. The film and 360 experience played to a sold out audience. 360 Screenings produce events that combine live performance with traditional film viewing. Beloved films of the past set the stage at historic and unique venues while audiences are instructed on what to wear, and where to show up only 24 hours prior to the screening. The film is kept hidden until the night of the event. From the moment audiences arrive they ‘step into the film.’ The venue, which could be a loft, a field, or any unique location, is furnished entirely to reflect the film's environment. Part cocktail party, part live performance event, part film screening, 360 Screenings is changing the way Canadians enjoy cinema. They invite film lovers of all walks to step into the film.
