Special Constables
Dark Matter is a science fiction adaptation of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness that sets the story of psychological destruction amongst the blackness of space. When Captain Marlow is sent on a mission to retrieve the brutal Kurtz from a distant colony she finds an unlikely connection with the man, and she must decide whether to terminate his command permanently or peacefully.
Dark Matter brings several core members of Circlesnake's previous productions, Special Constables and Angel City, including Joshua Browne, Colin Munch, Mikaela Dyke, and director Alec Toller. Toller also directed the feature film Play, which screened in North America, Europe, and Asia and won five awards for Best Screenplay and Best Feature. Circlesnake continues it's unique method of devised theatre, creating the script in rehearsal through intense collaboration to produce a highly physical performance.
"Toller and the very able cast's... use [of] inventive group movement... makes the 90-minute ride worth the fare." - Jordan Bimm, NOW Magazine, on
