Inspired by Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, the Keystone Ensemble (comprised of the actors, director and designers) works together in the studio to collectively create and develop imaginative stories. Musical Director, David Atkinson, recipient of a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Original Sound Design/Composition for Keystone’s first play The Belle of Winnipeg, composes the score during this collective creation period to capture the voice of the play. The Last Man on Earth is performed in the classic silent film style...without words...only occasional title cards in both English and French.
