Scarborough Music Theatre is preparing to end their 2013/14 season in May with the hilarious Sondheim musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The cast and crew are hard at work preparing to give audiences "something that's bawdy, nothing that's gaudy, something for everybody"!
Director Dot Routledge and the same artistic staff that brought you the wildly successful South Pacific last season is ready to whisk you back in time to the days of Virgins and Gladiators, Courtesans and Eunuchs...tumblers, grumblers, fumblers, and bumblers!
The show is already proving to be popular with SMT audiences, as shown by the strong advance ticket sales. Seats for matinee performances are already almost sold out.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opens May 1 at Scarborough Village Theatre at the corner of Kingston Road and Markham Road in Scarborough. The show runs Thursdays through Sundays until May 17. Tickets are $27 with discounted tickets for students and seniors for all performances. Tickets are on sale through the Theatre Scarborough box office and can be ordered by phone (416-267-9292) or online at www.theatrescarborough.com.
