An Outside the March Production with support from Theatre Passe Muraille,
now running until June 1
May 6, Toronto, ON – Outside the March is thrilled to announce that their
current show Vitals, the theatrical experience that invites audiences out on
a 911 call, is extending its run yet again due to popular demand.
The show, originally scheduled to close on May 25, will now run until June
1, with new performances scheduled at 7:30pm on Tuesday, May 27th through
Sunday, June 1st, as well as a 2:00pm matinee on June 1st and a special
midnight show on Friday, May 30th.
The May 27th performance proceeds will be donated to HEROES ARE HUMAN: The Tema Conter Memorial Trust, which helps raise awareness and support for the men and women of Canada’s public safety, military, and correctional
organizations suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
Comments Outside the March Artistic Director Mitchell Cushman, “We have been blessed with incredible audience response to this show and are so pleased
that there has been demand for an additional week of shows. We have also
received a huge amount of support from Toronto’s EMS community for Vitals
and want to honour their contributions to our city. The HEROES ARE HUMAN
organization does amazing work to help first responders with PTSD and we are
thrilled to be able to support them in any way we can.”
A site specific, immersive theatrical experience, Vitals is directed by
Outside the March’s Co-Artistic Director Mitchell Cushman (Terminus, Mr.
Marmalade) and stars OtM Associate Artist Katherine Cullen (Mr. Marmalade,
Passion Play). Vitals sends its audience on a 911 call, where they meet
Anna, a Toronto paramedic on the brink. Based on real interviews conducted
with local EMS workers, Vitals delves deep into the experiences of our
city’s first responders, and explores the psychological impact of a daily
routine of life, death, and bureaucracy.
Joining Cushman and Cullen on the creative team are playwright Rosamund
Small (Occupy Toronto, Genesis & Other Stories), production designer Anahita
Dehbonehie (The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs), Sound Designer Samuel
Sholdice (Passion Play), Costume Designer Shannon Lea Doyle (Soulpepper
Academy), and producer Katherine Devlin Rosenfeld (Terminus Tour).
