Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (June 12, 2014) — The Shaw Festival extends its congratulations to artistic director Jackie Maxwell, nominated for Outstanding Direction, Musical Theatre/Opera Division for the Canadian Stage production of London Road, and current company members on their recent Dora Mavor Moore Award (Toronto), Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award (Edmonton) and Jessie Richardson Theatre (Vancouver) nominations. The Shaw would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate company members who were recognized with Robert Merritt Award (Nova Scotia) nominations earlier this year.

•London Road, Outstanding Production, Musical Theatre/Opera Division (Jackie Maxwell, director).
The 11 Dora nominations for the Maxwell-directed London Road comes after receiving the Best Production of a Musical and Best Director of a Musical awards during last month’s Toronto Theatre Critics’ Awards.
Kudos are also extended to Martin Happer on his Sterling Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Clybourne Park (Citadel Theatre) and Moya O’Connell for her Jessie Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for Becky Shaw (Mitch and Murray Productions).
In March, members of the 2014 company were acknowledged for their work by Theatre Nova Scotia and received Merritt Award nominations:
•Sue LePage, Outstanding Costume and Set Design: The Glace Bay Miners’ Museum (Neptune Theatre/National Arts Centre)
•Sue LePage, Outstanding Set Design: Red (Neptune Theatre)
•Louise Guinand, Outstanding Lighting Design: Red (Neptune Theatre)
•Eda Holmes, Outstanding Direction: Red (Neptune Theatre)
•Red, Outstanding Production.
Congratulations to Eda Holmes, who won the Merritt Award for Outstanding Direction. Her production of Red for Neptune Theatre also won the Merritt Award for Outstanding Production.
