Up-and-coming playwright and director Brooke Banning brings five actors with disabilities together in a physical theatre production of incredible complexity and sophistication: starring Dylan Harman, who was featured in The Memory Keeper’s Daughter and Judith Thompson’s RARE, Victor Pereira, of internationally acclaimed short films Play.Stop.Rewind and Penpals, as well as Nicole Flynn, a gold medalist in synchronized swimming.
Wolf Sounds is a collectively-created dance show in which five actors with disabilities present, with reckless transparency, a story about conformity, isolation, and desire; it is a coming of age story about one man's search for love as he struggles to communicate, earn an injured soul's trust, and understand physical boundaries and was devised by combining movement with found, improvised, and written text to create a surreal physical theatre experience.
Wolf Sounds was featured at the Accessing the Arts symposium in Whitby, hosted by the Abilities Centre and self-conscious theatre. Wolf Sounds was also workshopped at Cahoots Theatre’s Lift Off! Festival 2014.
The Box is located at 103-89 Niagara Street (at Niagara and Bathurst, near
Factory Theatre).
Wolf Sounds will be playing for two weekends from Friday, July 18th -
Sunday, July 20th and then Friday, July 25th - Sunday, July 27th.
Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com or by calling: 1-800-838-3006.
