Letter from Wingfield Farm
February 18 - March 8
By (Leacock Award for Humour Winner) Dan Needles
Starring Rod Beattie
Dufferin County’s favorite son, Walt Wingfield, returns to your stage in the award-winning show that started it all at Theatre Orangeville in ’94!
When a captain of industry trades in his pinstripe suit for overalls and retreats to a hundred acre farm, the residents of Persephone Township raise their eyebrows.
In a series of letters to the editor of the Larkspur weekly newspaper, Walt Wingfield tells the always hilarious and oft times touching story of one man’s attempt to embrace a less complicated life!
"Author and actor come out 'Letter' perfect… breathtaking scope and depth in their portrait of Larkspur and its inhabitants" -The Toronto Star
Norman Bray in the Performance of His Life
April 9 - 26
By (Leacock Award for Humour Winner) Trevor Cole
A World Premiere Drama of Absurd Proportions!
Based on the acclaimed Governor General Award nominated novel, this is truly a world premiere drama of absurd proportions!
If Don Quixote were an actor, he'd be Norman Bray. Aging and too fond of brandy, but still handsome, still convinced of his talent, Norman dreams of a world that knows the artist’s true worth. Sadly, reality is closing in. The bank is threatening foreclosure. Norman is out of work and out of time.
If only his agent would return his calls, if only his daughter would stop asking questions, if only the world could finally see … he’s Norman Bray!
Baco Noir
May 7 - 24
A World Premiere "Full-Bodied” Comedy
By (Leacock Award for Humour Winner) Dan Needles
Bruce Bern has a dream of growing grapes and making wine the natural way on the south slope in Persephone Township. But Persephone is not smiling on his venture.
The climate is awful, the wine from his first vintage tastes like it was made from horseradish, and the bank is calling about his line of credit. But Bruce’s next-door neighbor, Oscar, has an intriguing theory about why the wine tastes so bad - and it has more to do with the supernatural, than the natural!
Our wine-tasting notes say that this robust full-bodied world premiere play is best served with laughter!
