From the people who brought you the internationally acclaimed Mahmoud (Best of Fringe NYC & Toronto), the cult hit horror Murder on Ossington (“The most exciting thing I've done on a Saturday night in a long time.”-The GridTO), and the the intimate site-specific production Five Fingers (NNNN "Powerful." -NOW Magazine) comes a new piece of speculative fiction.
Set in a hypothetical world where due to the advancement of medical sciences, people no longer age or die (if they can afford access to these treatments). The population has become unsustainable prompting governments to make unregulated childbirth illegal.
This dystopian epic features Dora Award winner Pamela Sinha (Crash), Dora Award winner Astrid Van Wieren (This Wide Night), Tennille Read (Theatre Brouhaha's Delicacy), Jesse Nerenberg (Shakespeare BASH'D's Love's Labour's Lost), and former GCTC artistic director Steven Bush.
Under the direction of Sarah Kitz (Three More Sleepless Nights) and Jivesh Parasram (The Lost Sagas of Tjorvi the Flaccid), the play concludes with a digitally streamed short film directed by Tom Arthur Davis (Elizabeth-Darcy, Five Fingers, Mahmoud, Murder on Ossington, Amusement).
What would become of the world if we lived forever? Is our way of life sustainable?
Opening October 1st at the Campbell House Museum.
