TORONTO, AUGUST 25, 2014 – The Cabbagetown Theatre Company presents the snowball-style comedy THE SNOW QUEEN…or slightly FROZEN, a panto-production for all ages adapted from the Hans Christian Anderson tale “The Snow Queen”, which the movie “Frozen” was based on. All performances are at the Necropolis Chapel, 200 Winchester Street, across from Riverdale Farm. Shows run 30 minutes and take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, and 12 noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.
The Snow Queen and Jackie Frost want to spread winter into the hearts of Cabbagetowners everywhere. For their plan to snowball, the Queen needs to join forces with Cabbagetown’s charming Prince Rupert. The Prince has other ideas though - he is scheduled to marry the lovely Sophia that very afternoon! Jackie and Snowy aren’t so quick to put their plan on ice, though – and what happens next will have you laughing and dancing in your seats!
The Snow Queen..or slightly Frozen has been adapted and directed by Kim Sprenger, with choreography by Bail Tamkei, and features the talents of returning favourite Wendy Akerboom as the love-struck Sophia, Holly Wyder as Prince Rupert, Kayla Whelan as Jackie Frost and Roselyn Kelada-Sedra as the cougar-riffic Snow Queen.
