Saturday, October 25 from 6:45 – 7:45 PM
Sunday, October 26 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM
Young Centre for the Performing Arts, 50 Tank House Lane in the Distillery District.
A weary soldier starts to play his fiddle. Attracted by the music, the Devil, disguised as an old man, approaches with a deal that will transform the soldier’s life. Toronto Masque Theatre returns to Soulpepper Theatre Company’s Global Cabaret Festival with a gripping production of Igor Stravinsky's dark and thrilling Faustian fable. Based on a Russian folktale, this dense fusion of music, dance and drama was created in the shadow of the First World War. These performances commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of that conflict.
Choreography by Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière. Design by Montreal visual artist Caroline Guilbault. Featuring Derek Boyes as the Narrator, and dancers Stéphanie Brochard as the Princess and Hubert Lemire as the Soldier. Larry Beckwith will conduct a virtuoso ensemble featuring violinist Erica Raum and trumpeter Guy Few.

A perfect love. A spurned giant. An enduring memorial.
8:00 pm, January 15-17, 2015 - Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, 106 Trinity Street
Pre-show Chat at 7:15 pm
After being mocked by a sea nymph and her shepherd lover, a jealous giant exacts a terrible revenge. This year's mid-winter cabaret will be an innovative presentation of George Frederic Handel's pastoral gem. Written to be presented at the stately home of the Duke of Chandos in England, this compelling masque is perfect for the warm intimacy of the historic Enoch Turner Schoolhouse on a cold winter night. Enjoy a glass of wine and be charmed by a tale of eternal love and transformation told by candlelight.
Featuring tenors Lawrence Wiliford and Graham Thomson, soprano Teri Dunn and baritone Peter McGillivray, a baroque band led from the violin by Larry Beckwith and a chorus made up of members of the University of Toronto’s Schola Cantorum.
Production generously sponsored by Roger D. Moore.

Pre-show Chat at 7:15 pm
In an abandoned room in Istanbul's grand Topkapi Palace, a Turkish princess discovers a mysterious music box containing life-sized automatons. This tale of love and machines is inspired by Jean-Philippe Rameau’s remarkable opera-ballet and the automated toys of Marie Antoinette. Our season finale is a balletic exploration of the obsession with mechanical gadgets and the Orient in 18th-century France. An exciting Toronto Masque Theatre production with special guests Les Jardins Chorégraphiques (Montreal) and La Compagnie Beaux-Champs (Paris).
Choreographed by and featuring Mickaël Bouffard and Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière; also featuring Dorothéa Ventura and Bruno Benne.
