There were five Marx Brothers, five stars for the finest in dining, and five Ws to give us the answers. We have five senses and five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot. There are five points on a star and five oceans on the earth. Ralph Waldo Emerson said that "a hero is no braver than an ordinary man but he is brave five minutes longer." Fives are good. Fives are great. And we at SpringWorks could not be prouder of celebrating our FIFTH BIRTHDAY in May 2015. Come along and join the party! It's sure to be a good one!
SPRINGWORKS NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR 2015
It's that time of year again, when SpringWorks begins collecting and reading through potentials to fill our roster for the upcoming festival! But for that to happen, we need your art!
We love new works and works in progress, poetry and dance, music and cabarets, puppets and shows for kids of all ages, and visual art of all mediums. We love it raw and refined, edgy and elegant, fearless and family-friendly, and any combination of those you can come up with!
If you're interested in submitting a piece - or know someone who might have the ideal work - check out our website for further information and for the submission form. The submission deadline is November 15, 2014. We look forward to reading everyone's work. Best of Luck!
SUPPORT AND VOLUNTEERING FOR
SPRINGWORKS
If you prefer to cheer from the audience or show your support in other ways, we at SpringWorks have plenty of opportunities for you!
Being part of SpringWorks as a Volunteer is a great way to meet exciting people from the Ontario arts community and abroad, to see some amazing performances, and to get a snazzy SpringWorks
t-shirt! There are lots of ways to volunteer, whether you'd just like to give a few hours of your time to hang up posters and pass out fliers or whether you're more into ushering and running the concession stand (SmartServe required), we have a place for you and it's never too early to volunteer. Check out our website for more information and to fill out a Volunteer Application Form.
Whether you are a local bed & breakfast, restaurant, organization, business or just a single person with a love of the arts, SpringWorks could use your generosity and support. There are plenty of ways, at plenty of levels you can get involved and we'd love to discuss how to benefit you as you play a vital role in nurturing independent art in this region. SpringWorks is a charitable organization and can issues tax receipts. Check out our website for more information on how you can offer your support. Your help makes a difference and we thank you for your generosity.
