The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival (TOsketchfest) celebrates a decade of presenting the best sketch comedy in North America with performances by Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon, comedy duo Pajama Men, and CBC Radio's hit comedy program The Irrelevant Show, plus over 40 sketch comedy troupes. The 10th Anniversary TOsketchfest runs March 5-15, 2015.
TOsketchfest is proud to present the Toronto stage debut of Kate McKinnon for two shows, Monday, March 9 at Randolph Theatre. Since joining the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2012, McKinnon has become a fan favourite for her spot-on impressions of Justin Bieber, Ellen DeGeneres and Penelope Cruz. McKinnon's live show will combine stand-up, character pieces and video segments for an unforgettable evening with one of comedy's finest sketch performers.
World-renowned comedy troupe, Pajama Men, return to Toronto for the first time in nine years, performing four shows March 5-7 at the Theatre Centre to headline TOsketchfest. Described as "comedy’s Velvet Underground" by The Guardian UK, Pajama Men are a hugely influential comedy act, having inspired a generation of performers world-wide with their unique style of narrative-sketch comedy that incorporates elements of stand-up, sketch and improv.
On Tuesday, March 10 The Irrelevant Show returns to TOsketchfest after a successful debut last year. The Irrelevant Show will record two all-new episodes for national broadcast in front of a live audience at Randolph Theatre. Performers will include regular cast members Mark Meer, Donovan Workun, Jana O’Connor and Neil Grahn. Special guests for this Toronto appearance include actor/writer Carly Heffernan and musical guest George Westerholm.
The complete TOsketchfest line-up and schedule will be announced over the next few weeks.
On Wednesday, January 21 comedy fans can show their appreciation for Toronto’s comedy scene with I Love TOsketchfest 2015, a celebration and fundraiser for the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival. I Love TOsketchfest will host the world premiere screening of Young Drunk Punk, Bruce McCulloch’s original TV comedy series at this event.
