Necessary Angel is thrilled to announce the cast of our January 2016 production of Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler directed by Artistic Director Jennifer Tarver, and produced in association with Canadian Stage.
Where are they now:
Steve Cumyn playing Judge Brack. I am standing in front of the fiercely diligent lion at the entrance to the John Innes Community Centre at Queen and Sherbourne where an as frequent as possible swim has helped to relieve me of stress and keep life and mood in balance here in Toronto, my adopted home, for the past 30 years.
Aviva Armour-Ostroff playing Berta. I am in my home in Parkdale.
Cara Ricketts playing Hedda Gabler. I am sitting at Pier 84 in New York City.
Kate Hennig playing Aunt Julie. I am waiting for Justin Trudeau outside the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa.
Frank Cox O'Connell playing Tesman. I am on my bike, going down a hill, towards my parents' house.
Christopher Morris playing Ejert Lovborg. I am outside Broadview Place where I am rehearsing my new play The Road To Paradise.
Hailey Gillis playing Thea. I am watering my plants on my balcony in Cabbagetown overlooking the Chapel of St. James-the-Less and the Don Valley.
Together they will converge to make the formidable team of performers gracing the Berkeley Street Theatre this January.
"This assembly of actors is the perfect mix of raw talent and sophisticated artistry. My dream team for Hedda Gabler." - Jennifer Tarver
Over the past decade no play has more rigorously challenged Jennifer's assumptions about how we move through our lives. She cannot wait to get started with this group.
The show runs January 12 to February 7, 2016.
