November 17, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Supporting local theatre just got a lot easier. Today Obsidian Theatre Company, Canada’s leader in culturally diverse drama, has announced its official partnership with Whole Foods Market Yorkville and the company’s One Dime At A Time program.
Created to support the communities they call home, the One Dime At A Time program provides Whole Foods Market customers the opportunity to donate a 10-cent reusable bag credit to a local non-profit organization. This partnership began in October and will be running through December 31, 2015; local shoppers can support Obsidian Theatre Company at the Whole Foods Market Yorkville location simply by carrying their groceries home in a reusable bag.
Launching its 15th anniversary season earlier this fall, Obsidian Theatre Company will leverage donations collected through the One Dime At A Time initiative to continue its work in creating a home for Black artists to discover, nurture and develop their craft. In return, Obsidian will celebrate the generosity of Whole Foods Market customers with a weekly drawing for free tickets to the world premiere of both Meghan Swaby’s Venus’ Daughter and Lisa Codrington’s Up the Garden Path.
Follow both Whole Foods Market (@yorkvillewfm) and Obsidian Theatre (@ObsidianTheatre) on Twitter and Facebook for updates and information on ways to donate and win.
