Presented in partnership with Canadian Stage, this Salon 21 will offer a behind the scenes look at our upcoming opera Julie, before it opens November 17. Join us for a field trip to the Bluma Appel Theatre, where a panel of Toronto directors will offer unique insight into the world of opera, hosted by Soundstreams Artistic Director Lawrence Cherney. This discussion will be followed by a chance to observe a Julie rehearsal with the all-Canadian cast.
Our guest speakers include:
•Tim Albery, director for several international opera companies including the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, and Scottish Opera, as well as directed The Children's Crusade and Airline Icarus for Soundstreams
•Joel Ivany, Founder and Artistic Director of Against the Grain Theatre
•Sue Miner, theatre and opera director, Founder of Pea Green Theatre Company
