Hamilton, ON, November 5, 2015 – Dr. Uri Ben-Zur of the Cardiovascular Institute in Tarzana, Ca. and the Cardiologist for Actor Jamie Farr today issued a statement on the condition of the beloved performer.
“After numerous cardiac tests including EKG, 24 hour Holter monitoring and a stress test I have concluded that Mr. Farr does not require open heart surgery or any other heart related procedure. I have adjusted his medical regimen, put him on a more perfect heart friendly diet and a more active exercise program. These recommendations should take care of any symptoms of shortness of breath, fatigue and arrhythmia he experienced.”
When Farr was forced to withdraw from the Theatre Aquarius production of the new stage comedy “Jack of Diamonds” at Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius, news spread quickly, with expressions of concern and best wishes to the beloved M*A*S*H* star pouring from across North America and beyond.
“Really, it’s been so overwhelming,” Farr said recently from his home in California. “It’s very moving to have so many people wish you well, but the whole thing just kind of snowballed. I really do want to reassure everybody that I feel good and am bouncing back. I’m grateful for all of the love, and I’m so proud of my castmates who have carried on and made Jack of Diamonds a great success”
Dr. Ben Zur is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at U.C.L.A. David Geffen School of Medicine, an Assistant Clinical Professor at Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine and an Assistant Professor at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Jack of Diamonds by Marcia Kash and Douglas E. Hughes, continues to run at Theatre Aquarius until November 14, 2015. The show has enjoyed critical success with Mr. Farr’s understudy, Ian D. Clark, in the lead role. More information is available at www.theatreaquarius.org
