As part of it's workshop series, renowned improv troupe The National Theatre of the World is hosting an upcoming acting workshop. All actors, regardless of experience are welcome to participate in this one day workshop dedicated to introducing the psycho-physical approach to acting developed by actor and director Michael Chekhov. The workshop will be led by actor, director and Chekhov-certified educator, Peggy Coffey.
Peggy Coffey's career spans 37 years as an actor, director, producer and teacher. Performance Credits include: Essential Collective Theatre, Harely Dog Productions, New Stages, Alternative Theatre Works, The Stratford Festival, CanStage, Blyth Festival, Lighthouse Theatre, Blue Water Festival, The Grand Theatre, Persephone Theatre, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Theatre Passe Murrialle, The Shaw Festival, National Arts Centre, Neptune Theatre, Canadian Mime Theatre. Most recently: Sharon in The Valley, for Essential Collective Theatre in St. Catherines; Director: The Seagull, The Chekhov Collective at Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs; Almost, Maine, Harley Dog Productions. Peggy received her Certificate of Completion in Chekhov Technique with the Michael Chekhov Association, Inc. in 2011. Peggy is one of 12 individuals from around the world invited to participate in The Chekhov School being established in Hudson, NY. Peggy enjoys sharing her ongoing journey in Chekhov Technique in her teaching, directing and acting.
