The voice is used to express feelings and ideas, to motivate, entertain, and move people to action. It is part of each person’s image. A natural, pleasant and dynamic speaking voice improves your communication skills professionally and personally.
This course explores how to be an effective and confident communicator through fun, practical exercises designed to develop and improve your vocal sound, vocal strength and clarity, combined with textual interpretation for public speaking or performance.
Your voice may be 80% of your total image.
Re-think your personal and professional voice use. Learn how to use your voice without strain or hoarseness, and develop clarity and connection to your text.
This course is for public speakers, business professionals, teachers, lawyers, broadcasters, actors or anyone needing excellent vocal communication. Acting experience is not needed and although the class will help actors, it is suited for EVERYONE who wants to be a better communicator……and have fun!

About Judy Leigh-Johnson:
Judy Leigh-Johnson is an acting and voice/speech instructor and vocal/dialect coach - with 14 years in the Theatre Department at the University of Iowa, U.S.A. Other teaching assignments include the Professional Theatre Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Theatre Department at Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia.
She has been vocal/dialect coach for student productions and professional theatre companies, in Canada, the U.S.A and England. Prior to her teaching career she was an actor in theatre, film, T.V. and radio, voice-overs and commercials. Judy’s acting training was at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and she received a post-graduate diploma in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, U.K.
