The Great Canadian Theatre Company invites you to meet Kyle and Hamilton Best. The Best Brothers, as written by Nova Scotia’s Daniel MacIvor, are as different as two brothers can be. In this bittersweet comedy, the brothers have been thrown together by the untimely, comically gruesome death of their mother. As they set out to honour and respect her last wishes, decades of buried resentments and sibling rivalry get in the way. Eric Coates directs this crowd-pleasing play about families and pets. Ottawa actors Andy Massingham and John Ng star as Kyle and Hamilton Best.
“Daniel MacIvor wrote The Best Brothers with surgical precision,” says GCTC’s Artistic Director Eric Coates. “Everything is finely tuned to his audience’s joy of discovery. These brothers capture the universal essence of family in all its strife and beauty.”
“Nova Scotian national treasure Daniel MacIvor’s latest, perhaps his most heart-warming...comedy to date. “ The Globe & Mail
“It’s comedy at its purest” – Toronto Star
