Since our Puppet Festival Weekend is new this year, here's a little bit about
How It Works:
Step 1. Head to our Box Office and purchase your Puppet Festival Day Pass. This is your ticket to all of the puppet performances and related activities on the Saturday or Sunday of this event. Passes: $20/adults, $10/children (4-12), 3 and under FREE (all tickets add hst & service fees)
Step 2. Plan your visit! We’ll have events running in up to four venues over the course of the day, so you’ll have a lot to explore. Our sites are close together so that if one performance fills up, the next one will be just a few minutes away. Don’t worry if you miss a show—most of them will be staged more than once.
Step 3. Play as much as you can! See multiple shows, try out a workshop and enjoy free activities and entertainment. The day will be done before you know it!
Step 4. Rest, relax, repeat! Day two of the family weekend is just as much fun as day one, so why not stay overnight? Take a paddleboat out on the Avon River, stop for freshly cut fries, ice cream or hand-crafted chocolate, or visit one of Stratford’s inviting toy or book shops. Then curl up in a hotel, motel or B&B, and get ready for another day of adventure!

A simple, timeless and touching story about a boy named Loki and his grandpa. Loki loves his grandpa. His grandpa loves him. Together they build cabins in the woods. In doing so they build more than cabins. They build a relationship. They build dreams. These dreams come to life through cartoon puppets, otherworldly masks and the kind of metamorphic magic that can only happen in theatre.
Loki’s Big Dream was originally meant to be a simple school show. I set out to make a show for young audiences that adults would tolerate. What I ended up with is a show for grown ups that children can enjoy. It crosses generations in it’s appeal. It’s deceptive in how it unfolds. It’s impact is akin to that of Life is Beautiful or Big Fish. Seemingly benign at first – amusing perhaps, then wham! It hits you.
Bring your parents, bring your kids, bring your love to be.

Part monologue, part physical comedy, and and part theatre. This is a tour de force solo performance that The New York Times says “tickles some sort of primal funny bone”. The show features vignettes ranging from comic to poignant to bizarre that explore the psychology of the masks we wear daily.
