Fish2Frÿ Productions is proud to present the English Canadian premiere of Jean Cocteau’s lesser known masterpiece, ‘The Eagle With Two Heads’. This new production blends the classical themes of the original piece and sets it in a dystopian future, creating a bold, powerful and political love story.
An anarchist poet appears in the middle of the night, intent on assassinating the Queen of his obsession. Wounded and bearing an exact resemblance to her dead King, the Queen decides to shelter him in her castle. The Eagle With Two Heads tells the story of their two day seclusion and the enigmatic connection that is developed between these two seemingly opposite characters.
Director Luke Gallo says: “The play’s social commentary still holds up today. I love the idea that mankind’s accomplishments have been reversed to a primitive nature and the knowledge of the technology driven past is now a part of history”
Transporting its audience to a world of treachery and passion, The Eagle With Two Heads promises a unique love story that spans the ages.
