Stage Door News
Street hockey buddies, three boys and a girl, gather for a game. It's the Centennial, the last year of the NHL's original six and the "summer of love." Things change when a new kid, an immigrant from Pakistan, moves into the neigbourhood. Pocket Rocket follows the five friends over a thirty-year period against the backdrop of a changing country. It's a quintessentially Canadian journey through evolving identities, persistent friendships, and a boundless love of the game.
Join us for a staged reading of Pocket Rocket: A Play in Three Periods by Lea Daniel and Gary Kirkham. The reading is the culmination of a week-long play development workshop. We want your feedback as audience members.
WHEN: Friday May 1 at 7pm
WHERE: The KW Musical Productions hall, 14 Shaftsbury Drive, Kitchener
This is a "pay what you will" event.
