Mammalian Diving Reflex is moving:
We are sad to announce that we are moving our office on July 1st, ending our residency at the Gladstone Hotel. BUT DON'T WORRY. The teens will still be around the building, as we are moving just one block west and keeping our partnership with the hotel. The Gladstone has been a major Mammalian supporter over the years, starting in 2007 when we partnered with them on Parkdale Public School vs. Queen Street West. They deserve a HUGE shout-out - our time in residence has been the best time of our Mammalian lives.
As for our new digs, you'll find us at 1266 Queen Street West, as part of the 36 Chambers Collective - a group of Parkdale-based artist studios. Our office will be across from a Johnny Cash tribute band's studio (FOR REALZ). Update your address books by summer.
Say “Hello” to MammalianMedia:
MammalianMedia is the newly-launched film and video production wing of Mammalian Diving Reflex. It's a new initiative led in collaboration with Artistic Associates Nicole Bazuin and Konstantin Bock. Films include High School Health, Sleeping with Family and How to Be a Brown Teen; stay tuned for more coming soon, including Deep Teen Thoughts and Hattie Goes Cruising. You can see what we've done and what's in the near future on our new MammalianMedia webpage.
Save the Young Mammals:
We are still raising money to Save the Young Mammals, Mammalian's youth wing dedicated to collaborating and training young people. Thanks to all those who donated recently - we lovvvvve you.
The campaign will ramp up soon, when we lose all our current funding for the program, but if you want to give your support to us now, we'd be super grateful. Donations can be made online at www.mammalian.ca/donate. We've got a slew of great rewards, but the best part is knowing you're helping to keep this amazing program running. Canadian donations will be given a tax receipt.
