Lost&Found Theatre presents a dynamic staged reading of episodes 4-6 from the original radio series of Douglas Adams’s cult classic on May 21 and 22 at 8pm at the KW Little Theatre on 9 Princess Street in Uptown Waterloo. In January 2014, Lost&Found offered episodes 1-3 to an enthusiastic audience.
Originally presented as a radio comedy on BBC Radio 4 in 1978, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Gal- axy was later adapted as a novel series, a stage show, a film, a TV series, a computer game and a comic book. The story follows the adventures of Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect as they escape the destruction of Earth and make their way through space with the help of the Hitchhiker’s Guide.
Live music and sound effects will be composed and performed by Nick Storring, a Kitchener native now based in Toronto. Locally, Storring has fulfilled commissions for MT Space and Inter Arts Matrix, and he has composed and performed with the Open Ears Festival. His broken-violin-based electronic piece Artifacts (I) won first place in the 2008 Jeux de Temps/ Times Play competition for emerging Canadian electroacoustic composers. and was subsequently heard at Festivals world- wide.
Lost&Found Theatre is a professional resident theatre ensemble based in Waterloo Region. The company was formed in 2004 and has produced 47 full productions and staged readings, including four world premieres developed and mounted by the company.
