Stage Door News
SpringWorks 2015 was an extraordinary, banner year. We set out to accomplish our main stage festival, our shiny new puppet festival, to give students of all ages an exciting experience, to entertain families and individuals, and to bring high calibre artists from around the world to our festival. We did all those things and we couldn't be happier! From our performers to our patrons and everyone in between - we couldn't have done it without you.
It was eleven days that was equal parts inspiring, energizing, and exhausting. But we'll be back again in 12 short months and we hope to see you all there! Keep an eye on our website for when we are accepting new submissions for 2016 (around September) and for our 2016 line-up (around February). We've also got LOTS of exciting plans for the future and we hope you won't miss a moment!
But first - want to hear about some of our favourite parts of 2015?

That time we had an amazing Opening Night with Trent Severn & Afterparty with the opening of the Tune Out/In exhibit at University of Waterloo and nibbles by Two Gals & a Diner and The Butcher, The Baker.
***
That time over 2000 students of all ages experienced readings, fully staged plays, puppet shows, workshops, and discussions with professional actors, writers, puppeteers, and theatre creators.
***
That time we put all those puppets on the stage in an exciting family-friendly weekend, complete with bouncy castles and hands-on activities for all ages.
***
That time we welcomed performers from places across Canada and around the world like Iceland, Vancouver, Halifax, Boston, Montreal, Windsor, London, Toronto, and Whitehorse.
***
That time we showed off our hometown pride with some of the finest musicians, actors, singers, dancers, and playwrights our town has to offer.
***
That time a little piece of Judy Garland visited SpringWorks, Saturday Night Reader set up shop, and we had puppets raise the roof at our closing party.
