Young People’s Theatre (YPT) is pleased to announce that its Drama School, part of the newly-formed Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT, is expanding to serve the needs of families in East Toronto.
Beginning October 3rd, Drama Classes will be available on Saturdays for youth in JK to grade 4 at a new East Toronto location: historic O’Connor House at Lawrence Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue.
The Drama School is also growing at the Downtown Toronto location. New Weekday Classes will take place at the theatre after school beginning October 13th. Classes for grades 5-6 are on Tuesday, and Grades 1-2 and 3-4 are on Thursday. There is also a brand new Music Theatre class for Grades 7-12 on Tuesday evenings.
Visit youngpeoplestheatre.ca for information on registration, available online, by fax, by mail or in person. Save 10% when you book 3 consecutive sessions of any of the classes. Drama Students also receive one free ticket to a Mainstage show at YPT with each registration (restrictions apply).
The creation of The Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT is a milestone in the evolution of educational programming for Young People’s Theatre. Made possible by a donation from The Slaight Family Foundation, this centre makes it possible for YPT to expand, deepen and enrich already extensive educational initiatives.
Over the past five decades, YPT has contributed to the emotional, social and intellectual development of over five million young people – sparking their imagination and perhaps a life-long passion for theatre. Young People’s Theatre embarks on its 50th Anniversary Season with a wonder-filled playbill that begins October 5th. Tickets from just $10 each are available at youngpeoplestheatre.ca or 416.862.2222.
