Please join us for this wonderful free, public event! It is not limited to those who are participating in the Summer Theatre Intensive (although it will be of special interest to students attending There's No Such Thing as Writer's Block with Maja Ardal)

Vern Thiessen
One of Canada’s most prolific playwrights, Vern has written for the stage, radio, and television, and has been honoured with the Governor General’s Award for English-language drama (Einstein’s Gift), the Carol Bolt Award for Best Play (Vimy), the Sterling Award for Outstanding New Play (Apple), and was shortlisted for the 2005 Siminovitch Prize.
His plays, which tackle ethical conundrums and conflicts on a person and political level, have been produced across Canada and the United States garnering much acclaim.
In 2014 his adaptation of Somerset Maugham’s novel Of Human Bondage was produced by Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto and was subsequently awarded a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play. Of Human Bondage is currently on stage again at Soulpepper for the month of June.
