Benjamin Blais, founder and Artistic Director of the Storefront Arts Initiative directs MacLeod’s Pulitzer Prize winning script about a wealthy American family plagued by mental illness, insest, and hurricanes.
Actor Joanne Kelly returns to the stage after six seasons as agent Myka Bering on Syfy’s Warehouse 13. Kelly stars as Jackie-O, the daughter of a dynasty who cannot resolve her obsessive interference in the life of her twin brother Marty (Carter Hayden of Orphan Black, Total Drama Island).
When Marty brings home his new fiancé Lesley (Karen Knox of A Woman is a Secret, Skriker, Shrew-ROTC) for Thanksgiving, Jackie and the rest of the Pascal family sharpen their W.A.S.P-y claws. Younger brother Anthony (Mulit-Dora nominated actor Jakob Ehman of Nature of the Beast, Cockfight, The Minotaur) can’t wait to meet his brother’s betrothed, while the matriarch, Mrs. Pascal (Joy Tanner of Degrassi, Life with Dereck) seems intent on watching it all play out.
Framed by Claire Hill‘s (Turtleneck, Donors- Safeword, Cockfight, Liver - Brouhaha) imaginative, decadent production design and illuminated by Melissa Joakim’s (After Miss Julie, SKRIKER - ROTC, Big Plans, Liver - Brouhaha) sharp eye and keen lighting design, this production promises to delight and scintillate all your senses.
As Toronto’s hottest Indie Theatre Company, The Storefront Arts Initiative’s premiere curated season has attracted top actors from across the city. The House of Yes is the kind of story that attracts fearless actors who crave depth and meat. With a season that focuses in on the underbelly of the human psyche, The House of Yes promises titillation, controversy, and red hot performances.
