THE PLAY: 2 sisters battle over who is to inherit their Grandfather’s (possibly) very valuable stamp collection. Meanwhile 3 unscrupulous collectors plot to acquire what may (or may not be) the world’s most valuable stamp. It’s a drama with some comic elements and the play contains strong language, raw emotions, fights, and physical violence.
CHARACTERS: (Ages are a suggestion)
JACKIE: (20’s) The younger sister. Smart, stubborn, and underestimated. Left alone by her sister to care for their ailing mother who has since died.
PHILIP: (30’s-50’s) Stamp expert. Owns the store where the bulk of the action takes place. Dislikes people. Has his own agenda.
DENNIS: (30’s+)Knowledgeable about stamps. A hustler. Brokers the deal.
STERLING:(40-50’s) Collector. Ruthless. Intimidating. Used to getting what he wants. Violent temper.
MARY(30-40’s) The older sister. Feels the stamps are her birthright. Abandoned the family and did not return to help when their Mother got sick leaving it to Jackie. Somewhat prudish.
