This innovative and minimalist rendition of Aristophanes’
classic “battle of the sexes” comedy, as directed by Liz McLoughlin, both entertains and provokes discussion about conceptions of gender and sexuality in both the classical and modern age. A WINDS production, it will play this September 1820th at the New College Quad, University of Toronto (just south of Wetmore Hall at 300 Huron Street).

The production showcases Dorcas Chiu as Lysistrata, Lyla Belsey as Calonike and Vanessa Jev as Myrrhine. It also features the work o f Olivia Dziwak ( Lampito), Maggie Cheung (Hypatia), Lanndis De Lallo ( Rhodippe), Katrina Elmsley (Agape), Nichelle Farrell ( Stratyllis), Mack Stewart ( Draces), Melissa Fearon (Laches), Katarina Prystay (Cinesias), Quang NgoTrong (Strymodorous) , Isaac Lloyd (Magistrate), Naseem Reesha (Laconian Envoy), and Lauren Van Klaveren (Herald).
Set Design is by Noa Katz and Costume Design is by Sila Elgin. Eric Synnott is the fight choreographer. Lexi Brennan is the Production Consultant and Vidhya Elango is the Stage Manager.
