A who’s who of Toronto’s funniest and freshest improvisers face off in Bad Dog’s fourteenth annual Globehead tournament at the Bad Dog Comedy Theatre this February. Hosted once again by west-coast comedy darlings Jess Bryson (TO, I Love You) & Craig Anderson (The Sunday Service), Globehead is a hotly-contested Toronto comedy tradition and the 2016 lineup boasts some of the fiercest competition to ever vie for the trophy.
Over the course of four weeks, twenty four teams and more than 80 improvisers will face off in this single-elimination Theatresports tournament - performing spontaneous scenes scored by both the audience and a series of guest “celebrity” judges.
Teams competing in the 2016 tournament include defending champs AJ Vaage (YTV’s That’s So Weird) & Conor Holler (Bronx Cheer), as well as Toronto Theatresports stalwarts The Coincidence Men (featuring Bad Dog founders Kerry Griffin, Marcel St. Pierre & Ralph MacLeod), The Ethnic Eccentrics (Canadian Comedy Award winner Lisa Merchant & Alex Hatz) and The Wrecking Crew (Jane Luk, Sam Agro & Dave Healey).
Returning tournament fan favourites include KEVIN (Evany Rosen of Network Notes/Get Some, Colin Munch & Conor Bradbury of Sex T-Rex), The Professional Actors (Christy Bruce of Blind Date & Gavin Williams) and Odin’s Song (Chris Wilson of Peter & Chris, Uncalled For’s Dan Jeannotte, James Gangl and Sunnyside’s Alice Moran). They’ll be facing off against red-hot emerging improv stars including Ify Chiwetelu (Fake Cops), Nelu Handa (YAS KWEEN), Christian Smith (Showlo), Kat Letwin (La Chasse Gallerie) and veteran heavy-hitters like Ken Hall (People of Earth coming soon to TBS), Kevin Vidal (City TV’s Sunnyside), Nigel Downer (Second City) & Matt Folliott (Standards & Practises).
