Stage Door News
A man and a woman. A teacher and his student. Three conversations that reveal critical questions about power – and abuse of power - within a university setting.
Oleanna, by the brilliant David Mamet, is a fast-paced, three act play that leaves the audience wondering who is the corruptor and who is the victim. It begins with a interview between John, a university professor about to get tenure, and his struggling student, Carol.
Oleanna remains as relevant now as it was when it was first written, at the height of rising consciousness about political correctness in matters of class, race and sex. The play is brought to the stage in Toronto by a production team well-versed in the politics of higher education.
Directed by Jacob Planinc, Oleanna stars Lindsey Middleton as Carol and Cam Johnston as John.
