Pea Green Theatre makes its triumphant return to the 2017 Next Stage Theatre Festival after last year's internationally acclaimed, Dora Mavor Moore Award nominated & Capital Critics Circle nominated show Three Men in a Boat.
Clique Claque is a dastardly comic melodrama set in the artistic underworld of Paris circa 1883. Madame Clothilde is the “Chef de Claque” - the overseer of a group of professional “clappers” who manipulate audience applause for cash. Together with her detestable husband she seeks to control the fortunes of every performing artist in the city. Much melodramatic nastiness ensues!
Written by Dora award winning playwright Mark Brownell. Directed by the multiple award winning Sue Miner. Featuring the outstanding onstage talents of Robert Clarke, Ron Kennell, Thalia Kane, Michelle Langille, and Victor Pokinko. Period costumes by Nina Okens. Stage Management by Hilary Unger.
