Hamilton, ON, Feb 29, 2016 – Theatre Aquarius’s TA2 Studio Series presents the Theatre George production of Mike and Juno Rinaldi’s Stationary, a coming of (middle) age romantic comedy in the Norman and Louise Haac Studio Theatre, March 10 – 12, 2016.
A man and a woman, with nothing in common but their workout schedules, sweat next to each other at the gym without making eye contact. One day during a vigorous workout, a set of dangerously tangled earbuds forces an awkward interaction and an unlikely friendship blossoms. As they become acquainted, they learn that they are both in unhappy marriages. When their feelings for each other grow to something deeper than friendship, they must make a difficult
choice: keep running on those treadmills, or stop running and actually go somewhere?
This 60 minute two-hander is inventively staged on two working treadmills.
Stationary is directed by Jenny Young and stars husband-and-wife writing team Juno and Mike Rinaldi. Lighting Design is by Andre du Toit and Sound Design is by Mike Rinaldi. Laura Ellis is the Stage Manager.
Stationary will run from March 10 -12, 2016. Shows are at 8pm Thursday – Saturday with a 2pm matinee on Saturday March 12. Tickets may be ordered online at www.theatreaquarius.org or by calling the box office at 905.522.7529 (toll free 1.800.465.7529), or in person at the Dofasco Centre for the Arts, 190 King William Street, Hamilton.
The TA2 Studio Series allows Theatre Aquarius to provide creative opportunities and mentoring to independent production groups, as well as established and mid-career theatre artists creating and developing work for the professional stage which is native to this city and our region, and presents a series of three challenging new works per season.
