Buddies Cabaret Artist-in-Residence Ryan G. Hinds returns to the Tallulah’s stage with SAY GRACE: THE MUSIC OF GRACE JONES, a playful and glamorous re-working of music from everyone’s favourite singing glamazon art star. Grace Jones’ iconic tunes (such as “Slave to the Rhythm”, “Nightclubbing”, “La Vie En Rose”, and “Libertango/I’ve Seen That Face Before”) will blend with Ryan G. Hinds’ blend of story-telling and introspection, as fashion & ferocity collide with gender & musicality. Featuring musical director Mark Selby on piano, Jeff Deegan on bass and Julian “Fatsound” Clarke on drums, SAY GRACE is the fifth show of Hinds’ critically-acclaimed cabaret residency.
Ryan G. Hinds is an award-winning theatre performer, cabaret artist and writer. He recently appeared in Ragtime opposite Mark Cassius and made his New York City cabaret debut before a packed house with his show #KanderAndEbb (following dates in Montreal and Toronto). Recent local shows include the critically-acclaimed 2015 Toronto Fringe Hit Starry Notions (Outstanding Performance, NOW and Best of Fringe pick for Torontoist & Mooney on Theatre) and MacArthur Park Suite: A Disco Ballet at SummerWorks Festival (garnering a Theatre Centre Emerging Artist Award Honorable Mention).
