The Howland Company Presents: 52 PICK-UP
This “Best of Toronto Fringe” winning production is being remounted at Bad Dog Theatre Wednesdays at 8PM through June and July 2016, $20 General / $15 Arts Worker.
In a blend of sharp writing and improvisation, 52 PICK-UP swerves from romantic comedy to quiet heartbreak at the drop of a card, as two people navigate through the events of their relationship. How it works: 52 scene titles are written on an ordinary deck of playing cards. At the top of each show actors toss the cards in the air and the story follows the order in which they are randomly picked up. No two shows are ever the same!
Directed by Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster (Of Human Bondage, Blood Wedding, Soulpepper Theatre) & Paolo Santalucia (Idiots Delight, Soulpepper Theatre, Mustard, The Tarragon Theatre), and featuring various alternating casts, this 75-minute play highlights the hysterical and heartbreaking truths about falling in love.
