Summer Opera Lyric Theatre continues to be Toronto’s oasis for opera lovers in the summer months and SOLT’s founder Guillermo Silva-Marin has just announced plans for the 30th Season. Since 1986, Silva Marin has led aspiring young artists through an intensive 8 week course of study concentrating on character development in opera through text and music. These weeks, which also include classes in acting technique, seminars on professional development and master classes with experts in the field, culminate in a series of performances showcasing the young artists. Eagerly anticipated by a devoted following in the GTA, audiences have the chance to see the stars of the future which have included Etienne Dupuis, Krisztina Szabo, David Pomeroy, Michael Nyby, Keith Klassen, Nora Sourouzian, Joseph Kaiser and Joshua Hopkins.

I urge music lovers from across the GTA to hear A TALE OF TWO CITIES as well as our operas by Offenbach and Handel!” Michael Rose is Music Director of A TALE OF TWO CITIES, THE TALES OF HOFFMANN will be led by the renowned Raisa Nakhmanovich and Maria Jung returns as music director for JULIUS CAESAR.
