CONTRA in the Tarragon Theatre Workspace from September 7th-14th. Written by Tarragon Playwrights Unit member Meghan Greeley and starring one of Toronto's most celebrated actors, David Ferry, Kingdom is directed by Mallory Fisher (former Artistic Director of The Foundry Theatre, Boston).
*About the play*
Having spent the majority of her life within the confines of a room, Nora’s knowledge of the outside world is limited to vague memories and the information (often fictional and warped) given to her by Sir, her captor. Her only companion in the room is an energetic, imaginative young girl named Scout, whose presence there is mysteriously secret. When Sir starts to forget his own elaborate system of rules, Nora shows small signs of rebellion but realizes that the decision to leave behind this isolated existence will not be an easy one.
