The tree is the founding image for our new season. Both of our mainstage productions use the tree, either as metaphor or as a powerful lesson that can inspire us. To get us ready for the year ahead, our first event of the season will be an enchanting evening of poetry, songs and words inspired by trees.
Music Amongst the Trees

•Artistic Director Larry Beckwith speaking about how the theme of trees works its way through TMT's upcoming season
•University of Toronto PhD candidate Leslie Wexler speaking about trees in literature and her particular connection to the study of Ecocriticism
•Singers from the studio of Elizabeth McDonald at the University of Toronto singing lieder, chansons and art songs about trees by Schubert, Mozart, Chausson, Vaughan Williams, Quilter and others
•Actor Derek Boyes reciting poetry celebrating trees
•And the brilliant collaborative pianist Jo Greenaway
