Cineplex Events today announced the return of its popular Event Cinema Stage Series that gives audiences the opportunity to experience acclaimed Canadian and international theatre productions.
The 2017 season will begin with National Theatre Live’s daring play Amadeus on February 2, 2017 and will continue with world-renowned productions including National Theatre Live’s Saint Joan, Hedda Gabbler and Twelfth Night; the Stratford Festival’s Macbeth and Love’s Labour’s Lost; and Broadway hit Newsies. This season’s star-studded lineup includes long-awaited performances by Gemma Arterton (Tess of the D’Ubervilles, Quantam of Solace), Ruth Wilson (The Affair, Luther) and Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl).
“The 2017 Stage Series gives our guests the opportunity to get re-acquainted with beloved, iconic characters,” said Brad LaDouceur, Vice President, Event Cinema, Cineplex. “Classic productions are reimagined and brought to life in new ways, giving audiences a fresh take on the stories they know, and bringing them closer to the actors and these brilliant performances.”
