timeshare productions today announced that Rob Kempson’s Trigonometry, the third and final play in Kempson’s series The Graduation Plays, will receive its world premiere in Toronto from March 16 to 25, 2017 at the Factory Theatre Studio, at 125 Bathurst St.
Gabriella wants action. Jackson wants a scholarship. Susan wants a family. In this new play by Rob Kempson (SHANNON 10:40, Mockingbird), three disparate people find themselves bound together by desire, destiny, and a few scandalous photos.
Trigonometry is about how far we go to get what we want—what we do to survive.
The final instalment of Kempson’s series The Graduation Plays, Trigonometry tests the boundaries of friendship, motherhood, and modern morals. Trigonometry follows Kempson’s critically-acclaimed and sold-out runs of previous Graduation Series plays SHANNON 10:40 (Videofag, 2015), and Mockingbird (the highest grossing play in the history of the Next Stage Theatre Festival, 2016).
“With this play, I wanted to try and tackle the parental perspective of teacher-student relationships,” said Kempson. “These three characters are at times both desperate and resigned. They are seeking to make choices to better themselves, knowing that those choices will hurt those around them. In many ways, this play is a reflection on responsibility. And while it stays true to the themes of power, authority, and sexuality that have been present throughout the series, I think it is fitting to end this project with a piece about compassion.”
Trigonometry, an original Canadian work written and directed by Rob Kempson,
features a three-person ensemble: Alison Deon, Daniel Ellis, and Rose Napoli.
The design team is comprised of Anna Treusch (Set and Costume Design), Kaileigh Krysztofiak (Lighting Design), and Andy Trithardt (Sound Design).

timeshare is very specifically an un-company. We are an artist collective, seeking to support one another in the creation, development, and production of new work. We don’t believe in defining ourselves by the kind of work that we make, who it is for, or how often it is made. Our work is about discovery and the creation of opportunity.
