On Friday, November 17th at the Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls, Executive Director Emily Oriold was named as the recipient of this year's Niagara Women In Business Award For Excellence In Tourism!
Since 2000, the Women in Business Awards have been honouring enterprising women whose businesses and community contributions have made a significant difference in the region, and in the lives of Niagarans.
"I am thrilled that The Foster Festival has been recognized as a major cultural attraction here in the heart of Niagara. In an early Foster Festival strategic planning meeting we were asked to write down one word that we thought equaled success. I wrote down teamwork. There is no question that I share this award with Foster Festival Artistic Director Patricia Vanstone. We always work as a team, so I definitely feel this is just as much her award as it is mine." - Emily Oriold, Foster Festival Executive Director
Emily has a great passion for the arts and has been a professional actor, director, and singer for over a decade.
Select stage credits include:
•Everything I Love About Christmas, Theatre Orangeville
•The Ballad of Stompin' Tom, Harbourfront Theatre
•Weekend Comedy, Drayton Entertainment
•The Glass Menagerie, Talk is Free Theatre
•Collette: The colours of Love, Talk is Free Theatre
•Little Woman: The Musical, Victoria Playhouse Petrolia
•The Outdoor Donnellys, Blyth Festival
