Stage Door News
There are wonderful people in this world who grew up with the perfect amount of emotional nurturance, who live simple lives, have excellent boundaries, and have managed to keep an even keel despite a distorted society. These people cannot understand why anyone would act irrationally, especially when they know that what they are doing is not good for them.
This show is not for those people.
THE ANXIETY SHOW, a new dark comedy show by Megan Phillips (People Suck, Not Enough) explores different mental health disorders, as told by comedians who experience them firsthand. The first half features stand-up, sketch, storytelling, and music; and the second half is open-mic style to give audience members the chance to share their own stories. We will also be collecting donations for CAMH (the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health).
Our very first episode, F**k Fat Shaming, sold out in advance in Vancouver, and we are excited to bring the next round – F**k Addiction! Featuring Jess Beaulieu (Crimson Wave, She Does the City), Natalie Norman (Crimson Wave), Richard Glen Lett (Yuk Yuks, Sober But Never Clean), Alex Wood, Erin Rodgers, Meg Mackay, and more! Come laugh away the darkness with us, because we’re in this together. Ugh.
