Next up we have March Break Drama Camp March 13th-17th, at the Simcoe Street Theatre, for children ages 7-11 years. Camp will be led by local actor and Artistic Director Rochelle Reynolds. Rochelle recently debuted her theatre company, Quarter Century Theatre. This camp will be an introduction to theatre and will focus on learning about live performance and having fun! The price for camp is $160 plus HST per child.
One thing we are really proud of at Theatre Collingwood is that we have a sponsorship program so that if there are children who would benefit from the camp, but could not afford it, we can offer them their tuition subsidized or FREE. If you know someone who may be in need of this please let us know.
On the Friday of the March Break Camp (Mar.17th) we will also have professional puppeteer Jay Wilson in town to perform his show "Puppets and Songs". This is a fun-for-all-ages show and will be performed at 2pm and 5pm at the Simcoe Street Theatre. Tickets are only $5/person for this one hour show. Since its inception "Puppets and Songs" has undergone a number of transformations, but always entertaining for the whole family, for ages 2-102! The show is performed by Jay Wilson and his band of hilarious characters! Meet: Lionel, a very friendly lion; Valerie, a simple marionette who doesn't say a word, but loves to assist with puppet warm up exercises; Boo, named by audience members, this ghost is sure to please; Pandora and Prometheus, fun characters from Greek mythology, who tell silly jokes and deliver clever routines; and finally Petunia, a skunk with an interesting history and a very special tail.
Children attending our March Break Camp will have this puppet show included in their camp.
