Stage Door News
2017 demands from all of us to stand tall, speak up and come together to ensure the march towards true progress continues. March 8th marks International Women's Day and Nightwood is partaking in a number of events to keep the dialogue around women's rights fired up. Come join us!
Our group of bright Young Innovators have been hard at work curating and producing FEMPOCOLYPSE - A Caberet for International Women's Day. They asked an incredible group of female-identifying creators to respond to the current political climate with their art, and what they have will blow you away - two hour-long interdisciplinary sets celebrating and investigating what it means to be a woman when it feels like the world is ending.
All tickets will be available at the door (pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $5), and beer and wine will be available for sale at the bar. All proceeds will be donated to the Native Women's Association of Canada.
Check out the exciting line-up!

A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN
On March 8th show the world what a day without a woman would feel like.
Organizers say “The strike is very consciously using a diversity of actions to talk about women’s labor, because women’s labor is most often rendered invisible, both by society and by policymakers.”
Inspired by the recent mass demonstrations in Argentina, (where thousands of women protested against gender violence) and Poland (where women fought back against a proposed abortion ban ― and won), it's expected that women from 35 countries worldwide will partake.
